RYAN P. GETZ, SECURES $320,000 FOR AN INJURED TENANT AS A RESULT OF A TRIP AND FALL ACCIDENT

Vlasac & Shmaruk is pleased to announce a settlement of $320,000 for an injured person as a result of trip and fall.

This complex matter involved two separate trip and fall downs as a result of defective stairs which were negligently maintained by the defendant, property owner. The first accident occurred on March 26, 2019, wherein the Plaintiff was descending down the exterior stairs at his apartment when the last step became dislodged, causing him to fall. Almost a year later, on March 18, 2020, the Plaintiff went down the same set of stairs at his residence when the fourth step broke off completely causing him to fall. As a result of these fall downs, Plaintiff sustained numerous injuries including tears in both of his shoulders and an exacerbation of prior neck and back injuries.

Despite the property owner claiming they never had notice of the faulty steps, associate Ryan P. Getz, Esq., through extensive discovery, was able to establish that this set of stairs had numerous complaints by prior tenants and the property owner failed to take action until after our client was injured.

Mr. Getz is pleased to have been able to obtain this recovery on behalf of our client and his family before trial. If you or someone you know has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, please do not hesitate to call one of our experienced personal injury attorneys at Vlasac & Shmaruk, LLC.
