Partner, John M. Vlasac, Jr. Secures $480,000 Settlement in a Road Construction Case

The plaintiff was represented by partner, John M. Vlasac, Jr., Esq. of Vlasac & Shmaruk, LLC who was able to settle this complex road construction case for a total of $480,000.

On July 2017, our client was a bicyclist, riding without a helmet, traveling north on Dune Drive near the intersection with 75th Street towards her home in Avalon, NJ. As our client neared the intersection with 75th Street she encountered and was permitted to proceed through an open utility construction zone in the median crossover. Upon crossing through the work zone, she was struck by a pick-up truck traveling in the opposite direction, which was operated by an employee of a glass company causing our client to sustain severe and permanent injuries. Our client was transported via helicopter to Atlantic City Medical Center.  She sustained post-concussive injuries as well as non-surgical cervical and lumbar injuries.  The utility contractors and sub-contractors as well as the town and the township police department negligently, constructed, designed, maintained, supervised and/or otherwise conducted the utility construction related activities and associated necessary traffic control around the road worksite. This ultimately caused the collision between our client and the driver of the pick-up truck.

Partner, John M. Vlasac, Jr. is pleased to have been able to obtain this recovery on behalf of our client and her family. If you or someone you know is injured on a construction site, please do not hesitate to call one our experienced personal injury attorneys a Vlasac & Shmaruk, LLC.
