NJ GOVERNOR GIVES DEADLINE TO HEALTH CARE WORKERS

Governor, Phil Murphy has passed a new executive order that puts a deadline for health care workers and those in high risk congregate settings. They will no longer be able to opt out of getting the vaccine by getting weekly tested, the new order states that these employees will need to be vaccinated, including boosters. The executive order does leave some exemptions for those with disabilities, medical conditions or “deeply held religious beliefs.”

Health care workers have until January 27 to get the first vaccine dose and until February 28 to get the complete vaccine series. Those who work in congregate settings are required to get their first dose by February 16. Murphy explains that health care workers already are required to get fully vaccinated under an order put in by President Joe Biden. The order pertains to full time, part time workers and contractors.
