New York State Amends Election Law § 3-110 to Allow For More Paid Time Off to Vote

The State of New York has expended the Election Law to allow for a more liberal use of paid time off to vote.  All employees who are registered to vote may request a maximum of three hours of time off with 2 days’ prior notice without experiencing a loss in pay to vote in any public election, regardless of their scheduled hours. Employers also must post a notice at least ten days in advance of an election to inform employees of the provisions to New York Election Law § 3-110. This notice must remain posted through the close of the election polls.
